Marie Sophie Goltz studied church music after graduating from the University of Music in Würzburg with Christoph Bossert (organ), Jörg Straube and Matthias Beckert (choir director) in the bachelor's degree program in church music and completed her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main with Martin Lücker (organ), Gerd Wachowski (organ improvisation) and Winfried Toll (choir director) with a Master's degree in church music in 2017. She attended master classes with Christoph Bossert, Andreas Liebig, Lászlo Fassang and Balázs Szabó and undertook organ trips to East Frisia, Spain and the Berlin Cathedral during her studies.

 

In 2016, she was invited to Cairo/Egypt to the historic Walcker organ of the German-speaking Protestant Church.

From October 2017 to October 2018, Marie Sophie Goltz was employed as a musical assistant to Stiftskantor KMD Kay Johannsen at the Stiftskirche in Stuttgart.

Until January 2019 inclusive, Marie Sophie Goltz held the church musical service as district cantor in the church district of Gaildorf and in the Protestant parish of Gaildorf. Since June 2019, Marie Sophie Goltz has been working as a full-time cantor in the parish of Rickling and in the Landesverein für Innere Mission in Schleswig-Holstein.

She also teaches as a lecturer in music theory and organ at the church music training centre in Schlüchtern within the C course for part-time church musicians in the state church Kurhessen-Waldeck and since September 2019 in the C course of the church district Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein.
